Veterinary documentation
The diagnosing veterinarian must provide a written description on business letterhead and be willing to discuss the diagnosis with the breeder’s veterinarian.
One-year health guarantee
Every puppy is vet-checked, receives a series of puppy vaccinations and deworming, and is sold with a written health guarantee.
What the guarantee covers
The guarantee covers life-threatening congenital anomalies diagnosed during the puppy’s first year of life, such as a liver shunt, hip dysplasia, or a defective heart.
If a covered condition is confirmed, the written policy provides for a replacement puppy of equal value. Contented Puppies does not assume the cost of medical treatment for the condition. If the family keeps the puppy, a partial refund may be considered after the case is reviewed.
The diagnosing veterinarian must provide a written description on business letterhead and be willing to discuss the diagnosis with the breeder’s veterinarian.
The policy requires an autopsy by a certified veterinarian, with appropriate tissue or laboratory analysis identifying the cause of death.
New owners are warned about low blood sugar in very small puppies. Injury or death caused by hypoglycemia is the owner’s responsibility, so the care instructions must be followed closely.
Injuries after ownership transfers—including being dropped, stepped or sat on, struck, or injured by another animal—are the owner’s responsibility.
The health guarantee requires the puppy to be fed Life’s Abundance dog food for the first year in order for the guarantee to remain valid.
The guarantee is non-transferable. If you can no longer keep your puppy, Contented Puppies asks for the opportunity to repurchase the puppy.
